if you have a CD of course of the XP 32bit...
1. Insert the 32-bit XP CD into the optical drive of your computer.
2. Restart the PC. Press any key as prompted to boot from the CD.
3. Press "Enter" at the first screen, then read the license terms. Press the "F8" key if you accept.
4. Use the arrow keys to highlight the drive containing the 64-bit version of XP and press "Enter," which will overwrite it with the 32-bit version.
or try to run the game in Windows XP (SP 2) compatibility, right click on mu.exe > Properties > Compatibility > Windows XP SP2 > Apply > OK,do it also on main.exe
if doesn't work then try to run both on Windows 2000 compatibility

obviously this whole year your system has been changed no?,you probably installed new programs etc. which may effect the game
also use CCleaner to clean your registry > http://download.piriform.com/ccsetup312.exe

I had exactly the same problem, i fixed it today.
You have to run updater & main.exe compatibility with
Windows NT 4.0 (Service Pack 5)
Even if you don't use it ;)

Else try out all compatibility options.
