Can't start it on windows 8 (new laptops -multi-GPU- Check last post)

Solution found:

No problem! As most new laptops use the dual-GPU configuration (integrated one, usually Intel HD version + a high-end one, ATI Radeon HD or nVidia GeForce ) so they could use the integrated one for normal usage to save power and use the high-end one to play games etc, MU didn't start when they were integrated together, starting the game without ones drivers and later reinstalling the drivers did the job. Probably MU didn't know which one to use for rendering and the drivers didn't let him know too.

Problem fixed, close this thread! ;)

so i can't start the game on this OS Windows 8 x64 Premium Edition.


1.I installed(client, patch) ,everything fine.
2.I updateed the client files, everything fine.
3.When i push start only the logo from GG appears and then nothing happens
4.I use only windows defender and windows firewall(Main.exe is added).
5.I try it to start with anny compatibility.
6.Drivers are updated
7.Added all acces ,eredity...


8. i checked on forum nothing useful!(and i am searching for an answer for allmost 2 months, nothing!!!)

Please help me with this one!!! Thanks allot! and sorry for gramatical isues.
 
like i say it nothing heped!!!! i Really try it all from there a big NOTHING!

Lets start with the problem, can you specify your problem what are you getting? The game just doesn't start? You don't give it UAC rights to start? Inform us a little more.
 
well ...the game is installed (without problems)...updating also got well. when i start the game from Descktop appears the launcher 1st, i manage options, push connect then the litle image pops up(the logo i think) aaaannddd...NOTHING! not even an error , nothing.
Drivers are ok everything updated....sincerlly i dont know how and whith what to get started.

Check your antivirus or Firewall ,maybe you have programs that may block the game ,check the list of blocked programs in antivirus`s list and also Firewall`s list ,try to add in exclusions this game in both of them.
 
Update your Windows not only your drivers and try to install DirectX 11 and Run time environment

im currently using windows 8 and works fine

FixFontXP =1 //turn this to 1 for compatibility issue on some xp machine

that helped my problem with my Win 8 :D
 
This has nothing to do with fonts nor firewalls, firewall disconnects the internet connection from the person to the server and fonts might be messed up ingame, which he still hasn't achieved.

Antivirus is the best startingpoint indeed. Disable your AV till you try to open the game, if that helps, you know the problem. Updating your windows is not necessary. I use not-updated version W8 and everything works like a prime. But tell me, maybe you played before and after some updates it started smacking?

Also, worth the shot, put MU in the DEP list. (at the down-left corner, press right mouse button, choose System, from there, choose Advanced System Settings, under there, choose the Performance settings button, from the new popup, choose Data Execution Prevention, you may choose the "Turn on DEP for essential Win blbalba, aka the first one, but if you already use the second tick, then add [the button, add] MU to the list, both main and mu executables).

well seems that nothing helps...
and i did all that stuff. Same problem...i start launcher everything fine i push connect it appears logo it's blinkin a bit then NOTHING!
And no, on this machine right now i have not been played. I bought it in April, try it(mean mu) and appeared this is not just for Infinity MU but for all clients that i we been try it...

Give me your comp specs (CPU, GPU, RAM) and let me know what drivers are you using, are them the latest? Sometimes the latest isn't good, so you might need to downgrade the drivers, but let me know.

still need help guys!!! really i try it all...everything that was on internet i try it(firewall, drivers , compatibility etc etc)...nothing!!!

Usually I have purchased windows 8 and our client working good without interruptions and for my friends as well. You don't need to do anything to play MU with your windows 8 because most necessary drivers is installed within the installation of your OS. Problem comes from your current computer / OS configuration. If it's default and always updated . Some program causing this or your video card. Try to downgrade to a lower version of the video drivers or try to update to the newest and tell me what version of drivers and video card model you have there. When client doesn't show up but just the GG logo appears then this talks that the video card cannot load the game window. It's also possible some 3rd party program running in background preventing the client to run.

1. I allready had a conversation with Jantsux...
2.Here they are in details:
-Windows 8 x64;
-i7 3632QM
-GeForce GT 730M 4 Gb;DirectX 11.1(driver version 307.17)
-8 Gb DDR3
3.i am gonna try to downgrade the graphics driver
4.i dont use hack's

just deleted the drivers for graphic card - NOTHING(and i try it to start with integrated one Intel HD 4000)! dunno really

1. Try upgrading your drivers to the newest (BETA) version, they're mostly stable so there's no hassle. Also, try updating your Windows, altho I use the originalv ersion w/o updates, it might still work. Update your DirectX 9 runtime variables, you can get them from the Microsoft homepage.

2. If that didn't work, then disable all firewalls, antiviruses, adware programs etc.

3. If that didn't work too, then go to MU folder, right-click on main.exe, choose Properties, from the upward tab, choose Compatibility Mode, tick Run this program in compatibility mode for: and choose XP SP3 from the dropdown list. under Privilege level, tick to Run this program as an administrator. Press OK and start the game from the autoupdater.

You didn't have a proper conversation with me, I told you to get TeamViewer so I could help you fast over internet.
 
i still wait you to enter in skype :) ... so please if you can enter in skype i got the TeamViwer ... try it them all...dunno really

well... Try it with Jantsux(thanks allot mate)...problem seems to be in dual GPU configuration...deleted Drivers from Nvidia left only integrated ones(did a restart ) and all gone fine...i will try it to run on Nvidia to see what happens, it could be tha tis not compatibile with 730M series(not sure).
i will write the answer after i will check it.

Ok :)! Problem 100% solved! dual GPU configuration it was the problem! now i am runing on Nvidia! Everything is ok !!! Thanks Jantsux, really appreciate it!
