I don’t know if my opinion will matter much, since I haven’t played iMU in a long time.
I stopped when they added the new tiers and legal macros, and the difference between them is huge, but that’s another story.
However, I do remember that in my last Castle Sieges, the first hour was completely boring.
I recall that nobody wanted to seal they just focused on accumulating as many points as possible and waiting until the end. i also remember that another server I played on just once, about four years ago, had the same issue: the start of the event was quite boring and sparsely attended because everyone knew the excitement only came at the end.
The administrator of that server found a pretty effective solution that managed to fix this problem and kept all players active throughout the entire two hours of the event. I remember they changed the formula for obtaining the crown.
The alliance leader could only claim the crown by accumulating all the seconds with just one click, and points didn’t stack up.
This forced all registered guilds to actively try to seal, as sealing in that way is quite difficult, and even more so if the defending guild does a good job. i don’t know how the balance is currently, but I’m certain that reflect is a fundamental factor in this game.
If our administrator can find a good balance between reflect and character movement, maybe changing the point accumulation format could be a good idea.
Perhaps forcing registered guilds to accumulate all points with a single click would be a good approach.
