Aloha there! Apparently, I changed some things here and there.
Any thoughts on this 8th gen rig?
Mobo : Asus Prime Z370 A (LGA1151) Z370, ATX, 4*ddr4 (11280)
CPU : Intel Core i5 8400 2.8-4.0 ghz 6-Core 6-Thread 9mb UHD630, 65W, DDR4 2666, LGA1151
Cooler : Deep Cool DC Gammaxx GT RGB
GPU : 8gb MSI GTX 1070 Armor OC ddr5 256bit
RAM : 16gb (dual) ddr4 2666 Corsair Vengeance LED, red, CL16 1.2v
SSD : Samsung 850 EVO 250GB
HDD : 2TB Seagate Barracuda 64MB HDD
PSU : EVGA 650G2, 650watts PSU, 80 gold, full modular
Case : Cooler Master MasterBox Lite 5 RGB TG
Monitor : 24" Asus VG248QE LED 144hz DVI HDMI DP

---> if i got extra money i would get i7 8th gen and probably ill get 1070ti or 1080ti . and better make your ram 32gb . since its 8th gen now

with my i5 6600k and gtx970 i can play any game on the market on ultra.
only on some games if they are more than 1080p i get slight FPS drops.

P.S.: i5 6600k is much better. not ok it's at 3300 and it has very high bench scores. i dare to say it beats many higher generation CPU's on the market :D

and 1070 as gpu has better performances than 1080. i think its the best gpu available at the moment.

I really wanted to future-proof it since I may not update it in a long time. I wanted the i5-7600K build as well but seeing the price is almost identical to the i5-8th gen build, I went for this one..

Agreed, if it's gaming, that i5-7600K I built is more than enough.
Agreed as well, I would prefer a 1070 over a 1070Ti/1080/1080Ti. I've read somewhere that 1080 has almost the same specs with the 1070. Lul at Nvidia

crap nvidia . they want profits . i guess 1070ti 8gb will do for your i5 8400 and overclock it a bit higher, if you got good cooling for your processor
