Internet,Anti-viruses and firewall problem

Ok here's my problem.

Yesterday,when i opened my computer,i saw that my firewall was off so i tried

activating it but it says "Windows firewall settings cannot be displayed because

the associated service is not running.Do you want to start the Windows

Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing(ICS) service? ". I've noticed also that some

of my antiviruses are off like my avast,the web protection and mail are off. So i

think by this cause, i can't even connect into the internet,my connection is

great but on my browsers it says that it can't find the DNS. If you're gonna

write "Check for viruses etc on my pc" i'll tell yes i have done all that stuff and

i have deleted some of them but i still have the same problem. Help me resolve

Provide more information about your PC! What windows you have? and in what language they are?

Try put it on "RUN":

rundll32 setupapi,InstallHinfSection Ndi-Steelhead 132 %windir%\inf\netrass.inf

Same how's there, after the end of the process, which does not warn you of anything!, But is that the mouse cursor working, as is, for if we can start the firewall from the control panel, and you will see the following message:

The Windows Firewall settings can not be displayed because it is not running the associated service. Do you want to start the Windows Firewall / Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)?

You will select "YES".

also you can try to see the internet protocols if they are checked all... go in internet >>> properties....>>> then protocols .... you can see there if all of them are checked.

Try this,hope to help you :

Go to Start, right click My Computer. Pick "Manage".
In the left hand view, select "Services", and "Services" again.
Look in the list for "Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)".
Right click the service and Stop. If Stop is disable, pick Start.

If the service still fails to start, you've most likely got a software conflict. Make sure you aren't running any other antivirus or antispyware packages that already include a Firewall. Try to reinstall your OS ,might solve all the problems that you have

PC Information:

Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002

Service Pack 3

1,83 GHz, 1,99 GB of RAM

Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU

However,I've tried all of your suggestions but it did'nt work and i still have the same problem

(Firewall off,Antivirus off and Internet off). I also tried Smigglez suggestion, System restoring,but

it did not work.Now i'll try to consult some technician forums and will see what will they say.

PD: Try to reinstall your windows! I Think this is one big virus >: ! I've got something like that, and I've need to reinstall my windows :/.
