Limit the Amount and size of text included in the signature area

For a more cleaner and orderly forum i would like to suggest to limit the Amount of text in the sig area and have guidelines on how large the text is how and how many lines. This suggestion also includes number of images included in that area

Reasons:
Every posts shows sigs by default that also shows the texts with large fonts and it takes long to get to the next thread comment because a huge wall of text with sparkly html needs to slap you first.

No html on txt meh its ugly to look at and difficult to read
One thread comment with around 2 sentences but in his signature area a wall of text with html like a border of mexico

We have staffs to remind us to rules vote avoid scam etc every forumer dont need to put that links in their sig area same as resi or other staff has

It doesnt give justice to the signature that was painstakingly made by gfx to be displayed in your sig area. The wall of texts just ruin it.

Here are my proposed guidelines
Regular players/forumers/vip/ veterans and other tags that are not staff related 2userbars 1 sig maximum 5 rows of text, no html, no oversized fonts, no other images except 2userbars 1 sig, it can be a .gif and must comply signature rules regarding the size

Staff is the one only allowed to exceed the rules above logic: they are staff.

Advantages: cleaner forums, easier interactions, to develop appreciation of signature and gfx, easy reading without that sparkly html codes like castle owner html code tag and most likely. ORDER.

Too many forum accounts abusing that area in my opinion we need to put rules on it to appreciate the sigs we requested in the gfx section. I find it hard to admire a wall of text with html embed

I think its a good idea but in my opinion, this doesnt change anything. Rules are already given on forum about how many siggy you can use. And that for me is fine. Your problem is when using computers, how much more to those phone users only? See theres no reason to limit the siggy area for etc words regarding that because i think its more for yourself. Expressing, and also giving guidelines tonothers specially forum rules and stuff through every posts a user can do.. so for me, i think its unecessary to limit that..

So if i post 2500 words as my sig wud it be counted as ok?

10. Signatures. Only 2 signature is allowed and 1 userbar/quote. Signature size should not be bigger than 400x220 pixels. Userbar size should not be bigger than 400x80 pixels. Maximum of 1 signature is allowed for the 500x400 size and should not extend the specified size. Any type of video is not allowed to use as signature. No por*ographic or any offensive content. Follow the exact size of the signature, because these are our policies.
No nude/semi-nude gif images or jpeg images as signatures or avatars.Users who place such images will be warned or banned due to the number of offense

so iguess a wall of text as a signature will be ok.. 2500words if possible. Nothing is saying in the signature rules that it is forbidden.

It only said only 1 qoute is allowed but some has gazillion of text along with images. I have no problem in viewing txt it is just for an orderly forum

I completely disagree.
For me Signatures text etc is a place of creativity. People will create their text there depanding on their likes but also will add shortcuts of useful links like Rules so some people might find it useful.
If big signatures/texts bothering you you can completely disable signatures from your settings.
If you are bored going to the next page of a thread to read the comments because of the large signatures you can choose to view over 40 comments in a single page again from your settings.
Also there is a limit on how many letters you can type on signature.

"Your signature cannot be longer than 1000 characters including BB code markup."
included link letters/bbcode letters even spaces.
1000 characters is pretty good imo.

I disagree with this. As Ezio said, "... is a place of creativity". It is where we express ourselves, maybe shows a little of our personalities, our favorites. Your suggestion is like limiting a painter or an artist to only draw stick figures. And come on. If long sigs are inconvenient to you, maybe not for all. Just my 2 cents.

9 years plus that I created my forum account and in these 9 years it never been a problem for me. You can have dumby things in your signature but also creative things also. Mostly people out here have creative not disturbing signatures or even empty signature. 1000 characters really good enough limit and rules like no pronographic images or not any offensive(including insults, racisms and so) words. So nothing more needed. In my opinion in this forum already things limited to its max, at least let people their signature with their very limited characters.

Yet suggestion is suggestion, I appreciate you but you really couldnt point any proof or any meaningful thing that shows it really worth to limit signature even more.

why shall we limitating things that are here longer then most of the users, why should we put up a rule about something that comes out with comment sense.

same as users will never use all the available options that there are for signature.
did you knew there is a preview button that would let you preview your signature before you make it live...

As many already mentioned, it comes to common sense really, and I see nobody in forum really exploiting this no character limit. If there are some absurd stuff in signature, obviously Moderators will take action, because even though something might not be mentioned in rules, we still have common sense. Many people like to put up several links in their signatures leading to several rules and that is a lot of characters due to url tags. RESiSTANT has 2500 characters used in his signature. Is it absurd? No. Should it be limited to 1000 characters? No. This has not been, is not and will not be an issue.
