Forum Update Reactions

Hello friends,

I come to you to announce a new update which was made possible by ours truly - RESiSTANT, and the new update, as thread name already suggests is new reactions. What reactions you might ask? Well, some of you might have already noticed, some might not, but that is why I want to update all of you on what exactly is it and how it works.

Thanks button is still the same and will keep functioning as it was before this update, so fear not, you can still thank your favorite posts and show your appreciation to them even more by adding a reaction to it!

At this moment under every post you will see emoticons just like the example image below:

The functionality of the buttons is very simple. You see an emoticon, you hover your cursor on it and it will tell you what reaction it is if the emoticon won't be clear enough. When you press it, you will see that 0 changes to 1. When you react to someones post, they will receive a notification about reactions, when they open it, this will be what they will see:

If you want to take your reaction back, you can simply click on it again and it will go back to 0.

And we even have a place to record all the reactions you have gotten and given, example of my log below:

At this time everyone can react with multiple reactions, but in time it will be made so only 1 reaction can be given for the post per each user.

In time the reaction emoticons will change and also some new reactions might be added, so still, slight changes are to be expected and you will see them when they arrive, if something major will be added, of course this thread will be updated with a description. If you feel like you have a valuable input and / or suggestion, you are welcome to post it in this thread. Hope you enjoy!

Small update:

Now reactions look like this:

When you react to the post, you will see something similar to this:

Meaning, that you can't react with more than 1 reaction for a single post. When you undo your reaction, you can react with something else, naturally.

Unfortunately previous statistics had to be re-set, so we start registering the amount of reactions as if they were just introduced, but everything is located just where it was before.

At the moment, this is the about 95% finished version and there might be only small changes that you won't even notice, so this is basically the product that you will use in future.

Also, want to remind you, that if you feel like you have a valuable input and / or suggestion regarding these reactions, you are welcome to post it in this thread.


Small note:
After several people have noticed that they don't really like to receive notifications for each reaction they receive, it's fairly easy to remove these notifications by following the steps below:

• On the top bar navigate to "Forum Actions", then click on "Edit profile";
• Scroll down to the bottom and on the left side you will see options for "DBTech - Post Thanks", click on "Settings";
• Right by the Notification settings tick in the option "Disable Notifications".

So, if you feel annoyed by this, you won't have to be no more

Also, if you still want to see reactions given / received from time to time, but not as notifications, below you can see where you can have easy access to this information:

Update:

1. Old "Thank You" button has been removed.
2. Statistics from old Thank You button has been imported into new reactions system and new "Thank You" button has been implemented.
