[Suggestion] Failure in BTA system.

Hey,

Well so since i came back noticed there's an failure in the BTA System which should be fixed asap for security of all the Infinitians.

Perfect right? So let's say i have 10$ on my paypal. And i'm piloting the account of a friend or i know that (Example). RESiSTANT has his vault full of uber accessories or uber weapons. I'd just make a BTA thread using saying there will be a trade between us by me donating 10$ as the rules say. Then i'd just make another forum account saying that the seller doesn't have one (I could change my IP as well / Ask any friend that doesnt' play here to register and post), and accept the BTA. Few ours laters the RESiSTANT will be totally scammed in-game without he even notices.


How to avoid that? Check Forum and In-game account IP's, plus if possible ask for the MTC Donations (Recips) to make sure.

You are not allowed to share accounts with other players. This is for both our sake, and you own safety. You don't want to lose your account of some misunderstanding, and we sure don't want to hear you complaining about it.

And BTA cannot involved 3 different accounts.

You got it wrong. I'm saying that i can use 2 accounts for that by just creating another forum account and saying "I'd accept the BTA".

so youre saying that you can just make a BTA on your own involving 2 accounts and the other one is not yours then just have another one reply i agree on forum and BTA will be complete this is probably what you are saying will happen in this case account A which is you will receive 3 uber set and account B which is not yours will receive 1 uber wep without him even knowing it and thus he is scammed...thats probably the scenario you have in mind...


but there is a big but...BTA will only be processed if the item is in vault and not just if the trader says yes in the forum...if he says yes in the forum and the item is in the vault...the fact that the item is in the vault means the owner of the account really agrees...unless you can guess what item will be in his vault and the number of vault that item is in...


although you do have a point in saying that a staff team has to assist even if they will only put the item in their vault as it is much more secured...the only thing is some players are too eager that they cant wait...

I will explain my thoughts on your suggestion.

For this to happen there must be a confirmation between game and forum IP and in here we list the following:

1.The in-game account is registered on a different IP.
2.The forum account is in a different IP
This doesn't automatically mean a fraud,this is the possibility that say 2 years ago you were playing at your supposed cousin and made the account there.Then 1 year later you were at home and decided to make the forum account on your pc,automatically you have 2 different IP's on those accounts.

*Let's say the scammer could be smart and decide to change his ip so it doesn't match his other account,he makes another account to try and scam us in the forum to accept the BTA,so what happens then? Of course the regged ip of the forum and the ip of the game account would be different,well then how can we not know the accounts were not made on different computers with different internet connections but still belong to the same person?

The most non problematic situation is when the ip of the in-game account matches his forum account,then we say ok,it's all good.

To make such IP confirmations won't have a 100% guarantee that someone doesn't try to scam the other.

I would say that the most assured way to have your items in a safe place is NOT TO SHARE an account to anyone,people are not trustworthy enough. If you don't share your account,you won't have it "hacked".

There is one simple rule. Sharing your account is your own responsibility. If you lose your items because you shared your password with someone, that is your own fault. Easy as that. In these cases items are not returned and the "scammed" person is to blame on that, not our system. I know you just want to help the community, but in order to feel good in a community you just have to follow the rules and such things doesn't happen if people do follow them.
