Discussion Unavailable Staff Members During Castle Siege

Hello there infinitians, I would like to just voice some concerns during a big event during castle siege. It’s probably the biggest event we have in this server because that’s when the most of players are online. It is quite alarming that only one GM(@Stevie ) who was present for recent castle sieges. I get it people are busy in their daily lives but you have a quite a high number of staff members to at least oversee the biggest event of the server. On your GM staff alone you have 7 ( @Sava @DORAEMON , @Johon @Luigir , @Stan , @Stevie and @Davido ) You cannot tell us that only 1 of you can provide the time to oversee the biggest event of our server. If you need help, you have other staff members that you could ask for help for 4-5 days of the month to oversee, record in multiple area of the castle, especially now that there is no liveguard to protect the server.
I’m tired of seeing the most exciting event of the week can only be overseen by 1 GM. If the other GMs are too busy to do so, isn’t time for you guys to step down? We barely see any staff members in-game, we don’t see efforts of staff members trying to reach more players by advertising the game.
Basically my point is, we don’t see any effort from the staff members to grow this community. Then why should we regard you guys on a higher position when you guys basically don’t do anything but ban people in-game and forum wise.

Sorry, you might have misunderstood the point of this thread, I did not complain about winning or losing the CS, I wrote about the lack of presence of staff members on the biggest event of the server. You might wanna re-read what I wrote before you reply there bro.
My "previous hack usage"? That was actually re-opened because there was no solid proof that I actually used it. Do not bring me to the likes of you who actually got caught with it buddy, you and I are not even on the same level. Oh yeah and again that case was re-opened but as soon as it went to the proof and Peaceful had to answer to questions, what happened? he decided to step down all of a sudden? Please do not butt in to a thread and making case for my allegedly bad conduct and hack usage when that was not the point of this thread and second you are one of the one who got caught with actual proof.

Yeah, I get that the GM team has a bunch of people, but they've got other stuff going on too. They might have their own things to deal with, like personal or work stuff, which means they can't always be available when we want them. But I agree that it would be cool to have more GMs around for a big event like this, so the game runs smoothly and we all have a better time. Instead of telling the GMs to quit, it might be more helpful to suggest that they work better together. Maybe they could split up the tasks for the castle siege among different staff members, so more people are involved and everything gets taken care of properly. This way, they can spread out the workload and make sure more staff members are actually doing something. Don't pretend to be kind when both of you have a history of threatening and attacking staff and admins. Don't act innocent. I understand the discussion, but the post is too aggressive. Demoting all the staff members? It's a joke. Why don't we come up with a better solution that benefits everyone, instead of constantly attacking each other? I am a top contributor and I have donated a lot, but I don't blame the staff for the system. The system starts with us, not them. We should help them improve the community instead of pushing them away.

First of all, it seems to me that this thread is too aggressive, I would suggest that in the future you write it a little more delicately.

Being a GM in such a large community is not as easy as you think, everyone has their own private matters so don't expect the GM to be at your beck and call,
besides the GM is not obliged to participate in this event.
That the GMs come over there and monitor this happening online is just their good will.

it's your responsibility to report cheaters and break the rules, when you file a report then GM steps in and solves the problem.

The GM also has game logs so he doesn't have to be there personally, so he will know who played/wrote who and when etc.

We are also talking about promoting the server you know you can do it yourself
we have FB as well as you have so record interesting actions in the game just like CS or big events and post it on your FB and share it publicly,
as you know well our FB is updated on a regular basis so you can also share our FB posts with others, don't forget to vote for our server because it also helps a lot.

@Off-topic: losing doesn't mean you're weak, we all have our days and luck is part of the game too, I don't think there is currently any difference considering in matters of skills and chances to win from all alliances on the server. The intention is to play for fun and not be better than anyone else.

@On-topic: I understand you @Cloud! because sometimes I feel same, we currently have several mechanisms for cheating and abusing illegal advantages within the game, the most correct thing would be for players to work side by side with the Staffs but many times I feel that arrogance takes care of some people and they fail to understand that the only way to make this game a safe place is when everyone start playing together to the server safety. Thats not because you have a staff tag, especially with high rank that you are better over normal players. The secret to success is sharing experiences, knowledge, seeing things from different perspectives and the only way to do that is to listen to everyone with open ears.
Anyway I think the other side (players) need to learn how to give points properly and with respect without acting toxic.
What we need most for now in my point of view, is an improve on both side atitude (players and staff), and staff to be more close to players, it's important to have more staffs also monitoring cs when possible because it's big event and it's hard to only one guy to be on all places, also if possible to staff to be more close at least to ally leaders, they can get reports from players inside ally and filter to see what is valid reports, so ally leaders can give names to staff and staff can help to record if necessary and to investigate and get evidences in case players doing anything bad in-game.
The game is a two-way street, without the players there is no staff and without staff there is no security within the game, so we must have charges on both sides, we all have our duties and rights.

And thats the only issue in Castle-Siege event, you talk about former staffers but you don't even check whats going on with the game before making you arrogant posts. There are not issues with people hunting fake sterns on other maps? Theres not issue with players bugging sw? Theres not issue with players having crown open and not sealing? All those things can be easy controled by your big team but all we got as asnwer is that you guys doing things internatelly, as professional you should keep transparency on your work and work for players safety not to inflate your ego.

staffs are getting lazy to be honest, I remember those old era when there was no Event Master, GM team can do multi tasking. Checking reports, assisting newbie ingame, interacting players ingame, attend castle siege event and big events plus doing atleast 4 times event in a week and helping venci to improve and balance those characters and new items.

but now? there is no transparancy, what actually do internally? chatting each other? there is no big update coming so stop creating alibi that u guys are really busy internally.

I noticed when they are not a staff before, they are both active forum and ingame even discord but now, they are in the staff team, once in a blue moon to interact players maybe to show that they are staffs and we just a normal players.

I see Venci trying to login in game for few days now and starts posting screenshot on social medias for attracting new/old players to come here. Logging in 1hr per day wont hurt your 'busy life' unless you really don't have time in your GM post.

And in addition to that, I also see the slow process of the report section, I tried to report in the past before but I see it takes like a week or more for others to respond even though they viewed it several times. One last thing, when you're banning people with reason undetected hack usage, can we please get an specific reason which one i.e SH, BMD, ANTIREF, etc.

As a former Game Master and as one of the living oldest MU online player with tons of memories and tons of old school experience I want to share my opinion too. I was a good MU online player. My successes in InfinityMU all came from my previous activities at top servers of those times. In those servers and specially in InfinityMU I saw and learned how good Game Master and lazy ones looks like.

I will not attack to any Staff Members or players. Because I am not active player anymore and I don't have any right to blame someone without knowing what really is going on. So, as former Game Master I will only tell what Game Master should do because I read comments and I got the picture.

Game Master duty is respectful and responsible duty. In more than 15 years of InfinityMU there been tons of Game Masters. Some of them remembered with full of respect, some doesn't and some forgotten already. You see even years of years passed but some former Game Masters still remembered by infinitians even after 10 years. This must be a goal when you take a rank. You must give all your best to be the best and remembered as the best for years. Whatever your rank is, it has different colours and different abilities but your name stands there. Whatever colour your name has, keep your name high. The only way to do that is respecting players and doing your responsibilities really well. Staff Team members have a lot more chance on gaining reputation. At forum, when they post a thread or even a comment they will be the ones with more reactions or emotions. At game it is even more fun Any Player whose from Staff Team can write things in middle buttom of the screen can earn tons of respect and control things as they want if they want.

Game Masters sometimes have to host events. Why not? If I been Game Master right now I would check what kind of events are on demand and not on host for long time and I would Host that event in game. That would make me more close with game and players and would gain me some respect and reputation among the other team members. Which rule would stop me from hosting an event as I wish as Game Master? If there is such rule, I would immediately resign from duty. I am Game Master and my name must be high in game. How will that be possible if I will only post Ban Threads, write on some threads with some unprofessional speech? That will only gain me hate.

I want some entertainment and having fun without passing the red line with Staff Members. That will make me as players to show attendance every day. That made me back in the days. If Game Master or Staff team member want, they can make sure players have good time in game and they wont quit this 9999x server any quick. Thats on Staff Team responsibility. Forum is forum, game is game. More players, brings more players and that makes healthy community.

I will repeat it again. I don't strike anyone. I just want to tell how things must work. Game Masters must be in game asking problems directly and trying to solve them. Stealthy mode is not Game Master thing. But if some of you really busy in your real life and cant login for more than x days, then please resign. I, myself back in the day resigned because I could only give 60% of my usual. That 60% is 200% of today, believe me Have fun guys. Try to respect eachother and look this thread as customer review, accept all and try to understand. It would be better if Game Masters themselves would comment here and express themselves as well. Hi just to share my 2 cents,

Why apply and stay as a staff/GM/EM if you won't be active in-game? Out of like 20+ staff members, I've only seen like 2-3 staff members average per week. In addition to that, @RESiSTANT is more visible in-game, discord, and forum, dude's the best admin I've known (sorry for being a kissass *wink*). I think some staff members need to step-up, and show us how a staff member should be, also if your reasons are (real life issues) maybe you should step down from the position and just be normal players, and let trusted active players to have a chance to showcase their intention. I mean no disrespect to anyone though, this is just my 2 cents as an active player and one of top contributor who loves the game. Love ya'll

Goes straight to the heart of the matter.
I am not active in the game on this server but I read threads on the forum and see what bothers players.
So players are most bothered by very low Staff activity in the game. this is disturbing with so many Staff.
I have another experience as a former SEM on the sister server, namely there were really not many of us there, more or less 4/5 EM +1 HGM + 1 GM and none of the players ever complained about our team because there was always one of us active in the game and we had interactions between the player and the Staff, first of all I was just a regular player and being there as Staff is just an extra to have fun. Personally I was doing about 13 events in a row almost every day other EMs or GMs were also doing multiple events. Being in the staff is not just sitting on the forum, it's about interacting with the players, you have to talk to them and listen to what they expect.

About Staff activity in CS I don't understand players complaining because this event there are many active players who record it all so if they see something wrong they can always report it, Staff is not really needed during CS.
I take part in CS myself on the former and current sister server and I take part there as a player, not as Staff, but everyone knows me there and if they have any doubts, I can also help them.
The basis is communication between the player and the Staff.

Ty the way if you are submitting a report you have to be patient it can take a long time because it depends on the situation and you also don't want the decision to be made hastily

Abesta is right on this. Maybe you should consider his words because many already is displeased with your high horse attitudes, stealthy and just to add up, staffer don't interact anymore, I don't see them joking or having fun anymore when they become one. I respect the staff because I'd like to try it but on my experience you cannot enjoy interaction anymore, you become a robot program to answer and not joke around anymore. As previously said, kudos to those who stepdowns when they know they are quite busy already in real life. Don't be greedy for salary. Cheers boys!

On the other hand, the best proof that staff never play the game is the fact that during previous times, when the server had "lag spikes" none of them were aware of this problem and all they could say was: go in game and make a video of the lag, show you ping and everything.. wow.. so whats the point of having you if you don't even realize that there is lag or you don't even take action after many people raised this topic. That is linked also to @SuperStell point, we are focused on winning CS, yet we have to waste time to open OBS, upload the video for 10 hours, while all you do is just write " 15 min left" "nice seal" " if you see something suspicious please record"

And lastly, if the report final decision is made by 1-2 GM, whats the point of having 40 staff members? I could be a GM as well, all that I have to do is repeat the same stuff that previous person said and add at the end " let's wait for other GM opinion"

What if somebody is bugging switch? What if somebody is farming sterns? Dont take credit for the gm who is actually watching and helping during CS, that’s the most important event of the MU, you obviously need game masters who are supposed to catch cheaters online during that time… the only one who is actually doing something from the team is Stevie, rest are useless during CS, even Wintwi who is EM do more than most Game Masters…

This event is automatic and not created by Staff so they have no obligation to control you.
To clarify something else on the sister server Staff was never needed during CS, we players watched others and made reports to remove cheaters, you have to remember that Staff can't be everywhere and can't see everything.
on this server you have a lot more players so you have a lot more eyes to watch others.
If you see something you don't like, record it and report what's so difficult about it??
I'm not saying Staff shouldn't be there, of course it's better to have someone from Staff watching over you.

This event is automatic and not created by Staff so they have no obligation to control you.
To clarify something else on the sister server Staff was never needed during CS, we players watched others and made reports to remove cheaters, you have to remember that Staff can't be everywhere and can't see everything.
on this server you have a lot more players so you have a lot more eyes to watch others.
If you see something you don't like, record it and report what's so difficult about it??

Then whats the point of having so much GM around? You are comparing this server with the sister server that was so inactive and boring a CS of 15vs15 probably less (no offense) instead compare this with other big Servers and you will see GMs around..
