  • Experience on InfinityMU:
I was introduced to InfinityMU way back in 2018, during a time when macros (auto-combo and auto-potions) were still allowed. I was looking for a server where I could play again after spending my high school days on other MU servers, hoping to relive the nostalgic gaming experience I had during my childhood.
I made a promise to myself that once I became financially independent, I would donate for Uber sets and become one of the strongest BK's on the server.
Fast forward to 2018, when a friend introduced me to InfinityMU, I finally had the opportunity to fulfill that promise. Being able to donate for Uber sets was truly a childhood dream come true for me. 😁

InfinityMU was also my first experience with a server that allowed macros and auto-combo. I was so excited that I even bought a new gaming mouse and its software just to become more competitive in the pvp scene. From there, I joined several guilds and actively participated in both in-game and forum events. I was fortunate enough to win a few events as well, including Kronwell’s Birthday Party and even Infinity Idol.

One of my most memorable experiences came in 2022, when I became actively participating in pvp, cs and also had the opportunity to serve as a GM. By this time, macros were no longer allowed, and all combos had to be executed manually. This change made PvP more skill-based and immersive. Participating in stadium pk's during this period meant fully engaging in the fight, managing potions, timing skills properly, and executing combos in real time, which was both challenging and a lot of fun.

During this era, the Combo Master tag played an important role in making sure reported players during that time with the tag are known to have good combos and of course were not using macros. PCH were also especially enjoyable, as players were required to record both their hand movements and their in-game screen. These measures helped promote transparency, fair play, and trust within the community, and they deepened my appreciation for InfinityMU’s commitment to balanced and competitive gameplay.

Overall, being part of this long-standing community has been a pleasure, and I would like other players especially newcomers to experience the same fun, excitement, and thrill that InfinityMU has given me over the years. I hope to contribute and help serve the community so it can continue to grow and thrive.

  • Availability during a regular week: think of your work / school schedule, only add certain availability.
    Forum

Weekdays & Weekends - (2-4 hours) // I'm constantly online on my phone so this could be more

    In-game
    Weekdays - 1.5 - 2hours
Weekends - 2-3 hours or more

  • What are your biggest weaknesses?
Overcommitment - I sometimes find it difficult to say “no” especially to my superiors which can lead to taking on more tasks than I can comfortably handle.
To improve this, I usually prioritize requests and organize my workload to ensure I remain effective and consistent in my responsibilities.

Sometimes lack the confidence - I have experienced confidence issues in the past, particularly in voicing my opinions. I always try to overcome this by making an effort to speak up when my input is relevant and beneficial to everyone.

  • What are your biggest strengths?
    Solid work ethic -
When I'm working on something, I don't just want to meet deadlines. Rather, I prefer to complete it well ahead of schedule and of course of finish it with high quality.

Leadership skills - I pride myself on my leadership skills and my ability to resolve potentially difficult situations. I had previous experiences dealing with people and difficult situations since I was an organization president during my college days, and I am also a team lead on my job. Using these past experiences, I have learned to understand and resolve issues effectively.
On a related note, I also have strong communication skills, which I believe can work hand in hand with my leadership skills and can help me to work well with our servers moderators and game masters in the future.

Being open minded to change - Being open-minded is essential for us to grow because some issues can't be tackled with conventional methods. This strength would enable me to look past ideas that didn't work and think of fresh out of the box ideas which in turn would help our server and it's players to enjoy playing InfinityMU.

  • Why should we hire you?
Playing InfinityMU has been one of the most memorable experiences of my life and ignited my passion for computer games. It is also one of the reasons I became a software engineer, with InfinityMU sparking my interest in technology from an early age. Even today, I see new players discovering InfinityMU alongside returning veterans, and being able to contribute to this historic community, supporting both new and longtime players would be a true honor. I am committed to helping maintain a fair, enjoyable, and engaging experience for everyone on the server.

    Sincerely,

    Johon

Great application! Words are sincere and you've been a Staff member before, and you requested for demotion. Because of busy schedule, for sure you'll get back into the staff team. Good luck 🍻

That is one impressive application. Having been a part of GM team, I would expect you to approach HGM for a possible return via private conversation, yet I do like your current approach, I would say it shows a positive trait.

Mentioning a win in my event as an accomplishment is such a blast to the past for me, I even went ahead and looked it up to refresh my memory and now I do remember you, even all those years ago I already thought of you well, given how logical your approach was, simple, yet very effective.

Many would say that application must be short and to the point, fk that man, I love what you have done here, I will always prefer this type of application over one that answers every section with 1-2 sentences, providing little to no substance. You seem to know how to tickle my fancy, chief.

One slightly concerning thing for me is, that, at least in forum, you are moderately active since the beginning of January, you are basically 2 weeks back from the looks of it, and getting back into rhythm, relearning everything, getting accustomed to things how they are after such a break is hard, yet extremely vital for a candidate of a Staff position.

However, even though I don't have much to go on, other than what I can find in forum, I think you are a very good prospect for the GM position given your existing experience. I wish you spent more time here to show how serious you are about your stability and availability, but it's not a reason to refuse helpful hands that have already proven themselves before.

Hence, I support this application.

Your application is good, you're quite active before this app, you have good reputation among players, can communicate well towards everyone, knowledge wise and experience about the role you have it, no reason that you will not be a good prospect for the team. My vote is YES! Good luck!

One thing i did not liked about you in the past.
You used macros against me and my ally while macros were explicitly forbidden. This had a significant impact..
Also... it is not mentioned anywhere in your application this fact.
You’re not a saint.. 😑
Considering that you held a GM position at that time, this was and still is for me a serious concern.

Aside from this issue..? Your previous work as a GM was good.
Just do not go Aga mood if you get to be accepted.
It's a yes from my point of view.. johon back as gm 🥳

I really enjoyed your application, from start to finish, especially been personal moved by

I loved that part because I also was in your shoes once.

Don't know you from in-game nor forum yet, surely we'll meet, but it's a well written application that deserves a trial at least.
Maybe it's your experience from the past that helped, but none can take your credits in that matter :)
just a downstream: your lack of activity in forum, maybe even in game since I don't recall seeing you around, or maybe we just connect on different periods xD

good luck!

Application looks good, But I do remember the stuff that viola also pointed out.
goodluck.

Hello @Johon,

Thanks for submitting your well written application.

For now, we’ll have to say no. You’ve been a GM before, but most of what you shared is just about your past and personal story. Honestly, your application doesn’t really show how you’d handle GM work today. Being a GM now isn’t just about past leadership. It’s about being active, handling reports properly, and being consistent.

We haven’t really seen much activity from you lately, either on the forum or in game. We only found out you were back because of this application. Maybe we’re just online at different times, but overall your presence hasn’t really been noticeable.

There’s also the previous issue of inactivity in the GM team. Back then, you only resigned after being asked.
Right now, we really need someone who has already proven to be consistently active. That doesn’t mean the door is closed though.

You’re welcome to apply again once you can show:
• Stay active over time, not just when applying
• Be consistently active in the game
• Be active in the forum, especially in reports, and make reports that actually help catch cheaters or game rules violators
• Be visible and responsive to the community and staff

If you re apply in the future, we’ll check to see that things are improved and that your activity is consistent.
Thanks for the effort you put into the application. You’re welcome to apply again once these are in place.
Welcome back!
