Hi staff and everyone,

I wanted to drop a quick suggestion regarding latency and connection routing for international players, especially those of us playing from SEA.

Connection quality is huge for PvP on InfinityMU. For over a year, I’ve been paying for ExitLag purely for InfinityMU, and it made a massive difference—it kept my lag bearable and let me stay competitive.

Having the SEA server back then was definitely the best experience for our ping, but I completely get why it was closed so the player base wouldn't be split up.

Lately, due to some unforeseen personal circumstances, keeping up an individual ExitLag subscription isn't really an option for me right now (and I know a lot of players in our region face the same issue with sub costs). We do have PingZapper available, but for players far from the server, standard routing still isn't quite cutting it for smooth gameplay.

Would it be possible for the InfinityMU team to look into a community partnership or official route integration with ExitLag, similar to what some other online games do?

InfinityMU has always done a great job keeping the server competitive and active, and I think better routing options would really help both current SEA/international players and new ones joining.

Thanks for taking the time to read and consider this!

I just had to chime in and say I completely agree with this suggestion! 💯

I’m in SEA too, and I’ve been using ExitLag myself for ages just to keep my ping playable. I know exactly how big a difference it makes especially in intense PvP moments where every millisecond counts. I totally understand how hard it becomes when you can no longer keep the subscription going without it, lag spikes, rubber-banding, and delayed skills really ruin the experience, and standard routing just doesn’t cut it from our side of the world.

Your idea about an official ExitLag partnership is brilliant! And honestly? I really hope we can also look into bringing back the dedicated SEA server too. That was easily the best experience we’ve ever had for ping it would go hand-in-hand with better routing to fix these issues properly for everyone in our region.

I did try exitlag and compared it with pz. The massive difference is stability. I'm a player from the PH and to be honest it's been a struggle since I started this game way back 2011 compared to the people closer to the server. I had to use different kind of boosters just to up my potting rate. I remember registering a lot of accounts for WTFast just to keep up with the trial period. Today I had to use PZ, and it's not bad as well, the only problem is sometimes it lags. I can see it on my potting rate. It suddenly pauses for a few secs which is a massive impact when it comes to PvP.

This is a brilliant suggestion.
