Hello,

I notice the recent changes regarding the removal of permission for Top Contributor and Forum hero to vote on events. I understand where the staff came about this idea, I also see a lot of BullSh*t vote and comments like "I like this one because it's nice" or one guy votes let's say a NOKIA phone over Iphone 11 Pro/Top tier $amsung Phone that's another bullsh*t we see on voting polls, it gets on your nerve at times for sure but Genocide is not the answer. You basically removed every function of Forum Hero starting from seeing reports (Which I agree they don't qualify) but now voting in polls as well, other than the Forum Hero Tag, there is not much reason for you to donate for it. To support the forum and the game? Yea sure maybe.


We'll I don't really get anything from voting except being a part of the judging team feels awesome at times especially if the person who you voted for did actually win in a DESERVING way.

I suggest that we create better rules and not shortcut our way into solving this problem. Like others I want to slap the people who only votes for friends and stuff. Removal of voting privilege should be singled out only to those who deserved to have it removed. Like people who keeps voting for the same guy, or lame reasons for voting or someone picking up something over the other that staffs deemed to be absurd like choosing a worm over an eagle something like that, you get what I mean.

What I think should be removed is the ability of Top Contributors and Forum Heroes to complain the staff once their vote has been removed/reverted because the staff team thought it was an absurd or suspicious vote + forum ban and or voting privilege ban later leading into permanent removal of that privilege.

This is like, ohh these black people keep looting and stealing from stores. You don't kill all of them and say, problem solved. Pick the ones that needs to be sentenced. I don't know, just voicing out my thoughts on this update.

don't try so hard, just get used to it.
do something else that worth your time instead of going against those time wastefulness. its not gunna go anywhere.

nice one bro, i get your point here. Not all Top supporter / Forum Hero votes bias. I don't really vote that much only if I see something interesting then i vote. This is something to look into.

Dont know if your in the right thread or something but your statement is kinda out of place.

Let me get some things up.
You had the forum hero tag BEFORE we allowed other tags to vote on forum events. Few months later we removed it because of biased votes.
Now you say the tag is worthless while you know have the same rights as before.

Let me get you some facts.
Forum hero is for showing you are supporting the server.
When forum hero was able to see in report section alot went outside. And they where picking on those who did reports.
Then now with biased votes.

We discussed this in the begin inside of the team. When the votes went offroad we would remove them back.

Its sad for those who did real votes. But as you can see who did the biased votes. You can easly track them down. And be mad at them.

We want a fair voting for the joiner of that event. Not just because it are friends or anything.

For those who think we are dictatorship rethink your words. We are strickt we discuss everything inside the team.
And if you think you can do it better you are always free to make a staff application and we will see

To add:
All forum premissions go by tags if we need to do premissions based on account it will get messy.
Also banning is not always the answer.

Just as Nikki explained, voting in polls is forum group based, meaning it would require to give Moderator powers to those who we would give permission to vote and that is not happening. Banning workaround is not a good one, because ban is the last resort and don't you feel weird saying that user got banned due to giving biased vote? Come on. We can't remove voting ability to a certain user, again, because it is group based. Yes, we could have a list of blacklisted voters, as well as review if votes were biased or not and have this back and forth argument, but you see, thing is, that for us to actually blacklist someone, that would require actual proof of the vote being biased. How do you think we are going to do that? Yes, we see that there is a pattern, but the voter can say that he simply likes them, how can we prove otherwise? We can't. We don't see their skype / facebook / whatever else is there conversations, we can't really know if the vote was asked for or wasn't, all we can see is that something suspicious is going on which we have no solid proof about. We are simply NOT going to ban or in any other way affect forum users because we THINK that they vote with bias. This is the biggest issue here, we simply cannot tell if they are careless, if they vote for friend, if they were asked to vote for the user, if they simply have no standards or what not. All of the mentioned are bad and not fit to be included as an actual vote and too big amount of votes did match at least one of the mentioned.

This update was not a shortcut, it was the last resort in case everything else fails, because we really didn't want to affect those who vote fairly and with an actually well formed opinion, but as said in update thread, this is what it takes to get results to be as fair as possible.

On the other end there is a good point for it's removal. Tags permits permissions and trying to single out each one that is undesirable to vote would be too complex.

We can go around this discussion but now I can see why the actual update has to be done.

With this I assume that there are no further questions and since FOR NOW there won't be any changes, I will just move this to denied. One day we might enable it again, time will tell, but for now it will remain as it is.
