ENTRY: "LUMPIA" BEEF SPRING ROLL
Is a popular dish in Philippines during special gatherings. It is best with warm white rice and sweet chilli or ketchup dip.
Beef Lumpia or beef Lumpiang Shanghai is a Filipino egg roll dish. It is mainly composed of ground beef, minced carrots, and minced onion. Spices and seasonings are added into the mixture. It is then wrapped and rolled individually in thin flour sheets known as spring roll wrappers.
Ingredients:
Beef meat
Carrots
Onions
Pepper
Spring roll wrapper
There are three steps:
The first is to make the meat mixture by combining and mixing all the filling ingredients. Such as beef meat, carrots, onions and pepper. It can be done manually by hand or spatula (if you will use minced beef) or by the use of a tool such as a electric meat grinder) It is important that all the ingredients are properly blended together.
The next step is wrapping the meat mixture in lumpia wrappers. These are thin sheets made from wheat flour. There are several ways to do this. Do it how it suits you.
Then lastly fry the lumpia. Deep-frying is recommended for best results. simply fry until it turns golden brown.
